Lane Validation value beyond compliance.
PAXAFE Lane Validation
PAXAFE’s Lane Validation Module simplifies lengthy manual processes associated with onboarding new lanes and recurring lane validation reviews.
IoT Maturity Stage
Today’s processes surrounding the validation of a lane are time-consuming, manual and decentralized. If you’re setting up a new lane, you lack information that gives you proper confidence as to how to select important variables, such as packaging, IoT devices, LSPs, routing & mode of transport, and other important lane characteristics.
This establishment of Lane SOPs is necessary for proper compliance, but adds little value once your lane parameters are set yet quickly dated and irrelevant by supply chain risks and variables that impact actual lane performance (e.g. weather, geopolitical risk, seasonality, LSP performance, Carrier flight schedules, etc.).
Common problems at this stage include:
- Decentralized, manual & time-intensive lane validation requiring 6+ months and thousands of shipments
- Excessive spending on consultants, specialized packaging experts, and simulation modeling
- Multiple disconnected tools and systems (Excel, transportation management systems, risk assessment platforms)
- Static, outdated data used for Lane Risk Assessments
- No real-time visibility into carrier route adherence
- Limited understanding of network risks at route and waypoint levels
- Reactive approach to optimization and risk management
Lane Validation Overview
PAXAFE delivers a consolidated platform that seamlessly integrates into existing workflows, streamlining the lane validation process. The system enables mass-ingestion of existing lane SOPs while maintaining compatibility with current QMS logic and risk scoring frameworks. Through dynamic variable analysis and continuous LRA lane launch capabilities, the platform transforms traditional lane validation from a static compliance exercise into a dynamic optimization tool. The result is tremendous value-add through continuous improvements, moving beyond basic compliance to deliver ongoing operational excellence and risk mitigation.
With Lane Validation, simply setup your lane with prerequisite information such as the product, temperature, packaging, LSP details, and any other configurable data requests before sending a validation request to your LSP partners. Each LSP is prompted to confirm the requested lane details, or they can simply upload their SOP documents and have the system extract everything relevant on its own. Once the SOPs have been ingested or added in manually, the LSP can make any necessary edits to lane/route details directly in the platform. Once the LSPs submit the lane SOPs, all information is routed back to the requesting company for risk assessment review. Lanes are classified with various statuses, depending on where they are in the validation process.
A summary of packaging and 3PL details, with visualization around suitability to meet validation needs, is provided based on LSP input and validation requirements. PAXAFE provides two risk scores, one from our proprietary algorithm and the other customized based on your QMS. With Lane Validation, each segment and waypoint can be reviewed to confirm that the LSP will meet the lane's requirements. This can also be accomplished on a route basis within each lane. Any specific questions or questionnaires that drive risk scoring are included and are fully visible with Q&A between the requesting company and LSP in the risk assessment app. Any updates to the lane validation are handled through the platform, with strict versioning control and version history.
PAXAFE also provides continuous lane performance monitoring and risk assessment to identify deviations from lane validation. Continuous lane monitoring not only factors IoT and SOP data, but it also brings in external risks from weather, geopolitical, maritime, and other sources, autonomously tying each event to your specific routes and lanes that are impacted by that very event.
