PlanIn BI Revision

PlanIn BI Revision is a comprehensive Power BI custom visual designed to provide full transparency over data modifications within planning and forecasting processes. Seamlessly integrated with PlanIn BI Matrix, this visual captures and logs every change made to planned values, enabling users to review, filter, and restore previous versions of their data. Every data modification is recorded in a dedicated revision table, where changes are stored as deltas, tracking both the old and new values. Additionally, an activity log maintains a record of who performed each modification and when it occurred, ensuring full auditability. Users can explore the revision history, filter changes by user, date, or activity, and gain detailed insights into how their data has evolved over time. PlanIn BI Revision offers powerful rollback functionality, allowing users to restore data to a specific activity or timestamp. Changes can be reverted fully or selectively, providing flexibility in managing historical edits. Users can also discard specific activities while preserving a complete record of all past modifications. Every rollback, discard, or restore action is logged as a new activity, ensuring a continuous and traceable audit trail without permanently erasing data. Fully supported in Power BI Service, this visual does not function on Power BI Desktop. The PlanIn BI Revision visual requires an additional Power BI visuals, PlanIn BI Matrix and PlanIn BI - Data Refresh Service (available on AppSource), to enable real-time data refresh capabilities. A backend write-back web API (advised to be hosted on Azure Web Apps) is also required to enable write-back functionality.
