What is Interactive Video?

The teacher sets a video assignment that encourages students to share their perspective by answering interactive practice moments and starting or participating in discussions in an active way.

Why is Interactive Video useful for learning?

Videos are a powerful way for students to understand and visualise concepts, yet, too often students are only passively consuming the content. By adding interactivity, deeper learning is enabled, as well as the possibility for deeper reflection on relevant topics. There is also a social element, so students can share knowledge in a fun and engaging way. There are many learning activities teachers can organise using this Interactive Video tool. Examples are:

How does Interactive Video work?

With Interactive Video, instructors can add a layer of interactivity to the video content in order to ensure that students actually process and not only passively watch the video. Both instructor and student are able to start discussion topics on the video or ask questions which would then pop-up while the video is being watched. By encouraging interactivity, the instructor ensures that students are actually using the full potential of the video. This is supported by transparent analytics, information on possible intervention moments, and straight forward moderation.
