Secure Enterprise SMS Messaging server for Microsoft Azure integration option for Microsoft Purview
BNS’s Enterprise SMS Server technology has been optimised to run in a customer’s cloud tenancy to meet the customer’s security requirements of Federal and State governments who require a Microsoft Purview compliant SMS gateway for sensitivity labels and data loss protection known as the Email Protective marking standards. Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MPIP) integrates with Microsoft 365 to safeguard sensitive information or comply with information related regulations such as the Australian Government Protected Security Policy Framework. The solution works in accordance with the Australian Signals Directorate’s (ASD’s) Blueprint for Secure Cloud.
The solution uses SMS industry standards to send SMS messages to a variety of SMS service providers using industry-standard SMPP\TLS encryption over the Internet.
Applications can send SMS via a SQL interface and\or an email interface to send and receive SMS messages. End users can send SMS messages using internal email from their email client such as Microsoft Outlook.
Microsoft SQL Server including Microsoft Azure SQL managed instance is used to store SMS data for: data flow controls, data analytics, compliance and audit. The software has been designed for high availability at all levels including: SQL platform layer, SMS Server layer and SMS carrier level. The solution can be deployed in a single or multi-AZ configuration depending on the customer's needs. BNS has boiler plate deployment guides, design and implementation plan templates to help customers with their specific design requirements.
The type of customer who will benefit from this solution is an enterprise customer looking for a secure platform they can deploy in their Azure tenancy to control all inbound and outbound SMS. Large enterprise with multiple brands or business units can all share the same infrastructure and leverage cost savings.
The solution allows connection to a range of SMS service providers who support an industry standard known as SMPP 3.4 with backup SMS carrier design for high availability.
Developers find this solution easy to use because they simply send an email or write\read to a SQL database table to send SMS messages. 2 way SMS is supported in both SQL and Email interfaces.
