Number lines let you depict numbers (or number ranges) with associated narrative. This can be an effective way to tell a story that involves progress to goal, relative values, explanation of values, and much more. This is extremely well-suited to building compelling infographics, and serves well as a gauge.

Can show discrete values or group values by tens, hundreds, thousands, etc. (user-defined or automatic)
Optionally specify end values, thereby showing number ranges
Locale/language sensitive formatting
Option to use exponential/log scale
Control over precision, currency and optional units
Control colors through settings or data
Categorization of values
Option to show one number-line per category (10+ settings support this)
Option to show horizontally or vertically
Interactive filtering
Display images alongside values
Format settings such as how to delimit grouped values
