How It Works

1. Timbr NLQ is an extension of the Timbr Intelligent Semantic Layer, an ontology-based data platform that virtualizes, connects, and models data from multiple sources for advanced querying through simplified, relationship-driven SQL.
2. Licenses for Timbr can be purchased as SaaS or on-premises solutions from the Azure Marketplace or at Timbr's Pricing Page.
3. Semantic Modeling: Use Timbr to automatically model and integrate data with meaningful business relationships, unify metrics, and shorten SQL queries by up to 90%. See our tutorial videos to get started.
4. Connecting to Excel:

   • Once your semantic model is set up and mapped to your databases, open Excel and select the Timbr NLQ add-in.
   • Follow this tutorial (video link: ) to connect to Timbr by entering your environment URL and user token (found on the Timbr environment welcome page).
   • After connecting, select the knowledge graph mapped to your data sources, and begin querying with NLQ.
   • As you type, Timbr’s NLQ auto-complete suggestions guide you in building your query. When ready, click ‘Run’ to see Timbr convert your input into a SQL query that immediately displays data in Excel.
