This is a full page-width SharePoint Online hero video banner webpart that presents a silent, looping video in the context of an animated background. Even though its optimal usage is within the full-width section of a communication site homepage, it can be leveraged within various other scenarios as well.

Several things to keep in mind when using this webpart:

It requires a direct link [http] to the actual video

Only the following media types are supported (.mp4, .ogg or .webm)

The video keeps its original aspect ratio and fills the given region. The video will be cropped to fit while maintaining its aspect ratio

When specifying a video, you are able to:

Select a video that resides within SharePoint Online

Select a publicly available video over the internet/intranet (Public site, CDN, etc.)

Similar to any other content in SharePoint online, the video needs to be accessible by your site users to be available

When pasting public/internet-based video links; keep in mind that results may vary as some videos may not be displayed due to network or security reasons (Remember that the webpart is running with the SharePoint Online context)
