Use Bing Maps on Dynamics 365 Commerce
Dynamics 365 Commerce integrates with Bing Maps to support location capabilities. These location capabilities can be used to find a nearby location to pick up an order. It is also used for order fulfillment using distributed order management.
You can define multiple modes of delivery that shoppers or sales associates can choose from, when they create an order that will be picked up at a store. For more information, see Enable multiple pickup delivery modes for customer orders.
In the Store Commerce application (Point Of Sale), a
can be created to pick up an item from another nearby store. Bing Maps Location services can be used to help locate the nearest store. In Digital Commerce (e-commerce), orders can be placed online and picked up from a nearby store. For e-commerce order pick up, we offer two distinct modules - the store selector module and the map module which need to be configured on your website. The store selector module is integrated with the to use Bing's Geocoding and Autosuggest features. It lets users enter a location (city, state, address, and so on) to search for stores within a search radius. They can also use the store selector module to pick up a product in a selected store after an online purchase.
The map module shows the locations of stores on an interactive map that is rendered using the Bing Maps V8 Web Control. A Bing Maps API key is required and must be added to the shared parameters page in Commerce headquarters. Map modules provide different views, such as Road, Aerial, and Streetside, that users can select to view map locations. They also allow for interactions such as zooming and using the user's location.
A map module works in conjunction with the store selector module to determine the geographic locations of stores that must be rendered on a map. Store selector and map modules interact when a user selects a store in one of those modules on a site page. Map modules can be extended for other scenarios, beyond interaction with store selector modules with module customization.
