Lane Risk

Aggregate your IoT data to reduce risk and improve network performance
PAXAFE Aggregated Lane Risk
Lane Risk aggregates your IoT data across lanes, routes and waypoints to reduce risk and improve network performance. Lane risk assists with Lane Validation and optimizing Lane SOPs, automating Lane Risk Assessments and equipping Quality, Transportation and Supply Chain Planning Managers with the confidence to make instant decisions.
IoT Maturity Stage
At this stage in your IoT journey, you’re now scaling your IoT track & trace operation – surpassing 50 lanes and well on your way to 100+. You’re beginning to realize that the volume of data produced requires continuous analysis to understand lane performance at scale. At this point, you’re seeking out 5-10 big optimization opportunities to drive cost reduction annually, which may include things like packaging thermal life optimization, route optimization, CO emissions reduction, carrier / IoT partner selection and performance management, etc.
Common problems at this stage include:
- Excessive spend with consultants, specialized packaging consultants, simulation modeling, etc. to make optimized decisions around your network
- Lane Risk Validation studies taking 6+ months, requiring hundreds or thousands of real shipments
- Lane Risk Assessments are done on static, dated data that’s no longer relevant or accurate
- Carriers taking unauthorized routes with no visibility to your team
- Shallow understanding of network risks at the route and waypoint level -- no root cause!
Lane Risk Overview
This tool enables you to stop using static and dated data from lane validation studies and start conducting Lane Risk Assessments dynamically with real-time updates. On each lane, you’ll receive a performance score that indicates whether you need to take immediate action, monitor or ignore. The performance score covers the items that your organization has control over (Lane / Shipping / Packaging SOPs, SLA agreements, routing decisions, carrier / IoT selection, shipment route verification (SRV) reports, etc. External risk is also indicated with a Low, Medium and High risk classification. These are the risks that are beyond your organization’s direct control (weather, geopolitical, airline, ocean, etc.).
Athena
As part of Lane Risk, ATHENA becomes your Gen-AI private analyst, that continuously assesses problematic lanes and routes, and prescribes proactive recommendations across a number of dimensions, including Delivery, Temperature, Route Adherence, Device Performance, Packaging, CO, and External Events. You can toggle ATHENA across these different dimensions to understand which recommendations ATHENA is prescribing, and your own network’s supporting evidence with each recommendation.
Data Overview
If you want to conduct further analysis, you can see exactly how many routes a lane has (based on the aggregated IoT data), how many shipments make up those routes, and be able to drill into each of these segments if needed. Easily go from high-level lane analysis into individual route analysis to understand how routes are performing across the network. PAXAFE’s auto-geofencing algorithm breaks out routes by in-transit and static legs, showing you an immediate view of how your route is constructed (legs & mode of transport, which waypoints, and waypoint performance against Lane SOP). Beyond route level, you can drill all the way down to a shipment level to understand the underlying evidence that’s being aggregated towards your route and lane recommendations.
