FK&A Project Data Foundation and Dashboard Pack - Enterprise Power BI solution for Microsoft Project
FK&A PROJECT DATA FOUNDATION AND DASHBOARD PACK is an enterprise-scalable Microsoft Power BI solution for Microsoft Project Pro, Project Online, and Project Server, with over 400 Dashboards, with an Edition to meet any scenario. All Editions have a robust automatically generated model-based Data Foundation (the back end) and a full suite of Dashboard Packs (the front end), which combine to radically simplify and thus lower the cost of getting maximum value from your Project data investment.
Each Edition gets its data from very different data source types (OData, SQL, and XML), but the Models look the same to Dashboards, so your Dashboard investments are future-proof, even if you change Project platforms or our Editions. And because these Models are based on Microsoft's Analysis Services industry standard, you can also use Tableau and other visualization tools.
- DATA FOUNDATION
The Project Data Foundation provides a business-friendly Microsoft Analytic Cube with all Project data in one place, ready for easy analysis and reporting. It is available in:
Cloud Edition, hosted in the Microsoft Power BI cloud service and pulling data directly from Microsoft Project Online, or Project Server via the Microsoft Enterprise Data Gateway. Enterprise Edition, targeting Project Server 2010-2019 and Subscription, sourcing data directly from their underlying SQL Server, and generating an Analysis Services Cube. These solutions can be on premises, in the cloud, or hybrid. Desktop Edition, implementing our full Models just using Project Desktop + Power BI, with no need for a server.
In all Editions, the Cube auto-adapts to your Project configuration changes including all Enterprise Custom Fields. The single Cube design unifies all data, supporting analysis by Project, Master Project, Project Portfolio, Department, Project lifecycle stage, Resource Team, Project Owner, any Custom Field, and any other data. All Editions also provide built-in Cube KPIs that summarize many Project performance attributes, including cost, schedule, resourcing, risks, issues, and so on. If you have Project-related data outside Project, you can leverage our “Data Suburbs” extensibility framework to seamlessly deliver data from outside applications in the same unified Cube for the ultimate in simple data surfing. We call this "Model of Models."
- DASHBOARD PACK
The Dashboard Pack gets customers running quickly with hundreds of Dashboards, all fed from the Data Foundation Cube. They provide dynamic views using all Microsoft Dashboard tools. For Microsoft Project Online customers, the choices range from the Microsoft Power BI / Fabric cloud service + Teams for an “all-cloud” solution, to a hybrid solution replicating data on premises and leveraging Power BI Report Server or the Dashboard technologies bundled with SharePoint Enterprise and SQL Server. These provide interactive visual analyses of Project, Master Schedule, and Portfolio data from many perspectives, including Project KPIs and Baseline Status, Project Details, Project Manager Metrics, Portfolio Analysis, Resourcing Heat Maps, and Project Publishing Status. We leave no data behind.
- OPTIONAL TRENDING MODULE
All Editions support an optional Trending Module that retains snapshots of all historical Project data, adding a “Snapshot Date” dimension, “…History” folders, and hundreds of Trend-related metrics and measures to the Cube to support unlimited “as-of” and trend reporting, and provides scores of Dashboards visualizing these trends.
- OPTIONAL ADVANCED ANALYTICS AND COMPLIANCE MODULE
All Editions also support an optional Advanced Analytics and Compliance Module, building on the Trending Module to deliver Analytics for Advanced Performance, 12 of the DCMA 14-Point Assessments, Earned Value, Integrated Monte Carlo Risk Data, and Schedule Networks.
- OPTIONAL OTHER MODULES
To support special customer scenarios, we have many other optional Modules, to sync data between applications Hub-and-Spoke style, to automate data exchange between organizations, to integrate with Enterprise Resource Planning systems such as SAP, to automate processing of Master Schedules, and the like.
