Manage templates centrally, but let users find the templates they have access to in each library
Most organizations use templates for different kinds of documents. Templates Manager makes it easy to distribute templates across the farm or tenant, so that each user gets the templates he or she needs but nothing more.. With Templates Manager templates can be categorized and searched, and template descriptions can be shown when users hover over the templates.
Templates Manager adds a template selection button to all document libraries. When users click on the button, each user gets a choice of all templates the user has access to – from the whole tenant, not only from the current site.
The templates are stored and managed in templates libraries, and the SharePoint search feature is used to find and distribute the templates, with their descriptions and categories.
This application consists of a single client side extension SPFX package. It adds a button to the modern experience ribbon, allowing the user to select a template to use to create a new document.
