Effortlessly save code snippets, workflow context, and other useful developer resources!

In order to use this app, users must have an active Pieces account. Please [install](https://code.pieces.app) and [contact](https://code.pieces.app/contact) our support team if you encounter any issues or need assistance. Please update your Pieces OS if your version is not at least 4.2.3.

**Getting Started**

1. Install Pieces for Personal use. This is required in order to authenticate with the bot.

2. Pieces for Developers Desktop Application is required for Pieces Microsoft Teams Integration to function. Install Pieces [here](https://code.pieces.app).

3. Login to the Pieces for Developers desktop application using the exact same email used to sign in to Microsoft Teams. This is required to establish the connection between your Microsoft Teams and Pieces for Developers.

4. To get started in Teams, authenticate with the Pieces bot by typing “login”. This will enable Pieces to take actions on your behalf, for instance, extract the message content and Save to Pieces.

5. Add Pieces Microsoft Teams Integration to your desired teams and chats.

6. Find a Code Snippet or Message, select the desired message (⋯) / more actions / Save to Pieces. You should see the content within the Pieces for Developers Desktop Application.

**Features**

- Authenticate with Pieces: Login to the Pieces Chat Bot (used to authenticate the bot on behalf of the user and to save snippets to your Pieces for Developers Desktop application).

- Action to Save to Pieces: This will save the message and any code attachments to Pieces for Developers in real-time and enrich those materials with valuable metadata such as related people, a smart description, and related links, including a link back to the original message to reference later.

- @Pieces Save: This message command will save the previous message to Pieces. To enable this feature, you will need to add Pieces to your desired chat/channel.

- Question: This is a message command that will start a conversation with the Pieces for Developers Copilot and help you answer all your code questions. This is only available within the personal chat with the Pieces Bot.

- @Pieces Discover: This is a message command that will comb through your desired chat/team, identify code attachments, and save them to Pieces.

- @Pieces Enrich: This will select the previous message (code snippet) and enrich it with AI-powered metadata (related links, related people, title, language classification, and more!).

- @Pieces Extract: This will select the previous message (only image files), extract the code from the image via OCR, and enrich the extracted code with AI-powered metadata (related links, related people, title, language classification, and more!).

- @Pieces Unfurl [pieces_shareable_link]: This will take a Pieces-generated shareable link and unfurl the link to display a card within a chat or channel. This card includes a convenient save button that will gather additional Microsoft Teams context. For example, ”@Pieces Unfurl https://mark.pieces.cloud/?p=516149bcb1”.

- @Pieces Help: This is a message command that will list all available commands, common errors, and links to documentation/support.

- Note: All message commands will skip messages that include @Pieces commands, and will skip messages that are emitted from the Pieces bot, unless you are using commands within the personal chat with the bot. This enables you to retry a message command if a failure occurs.
