Product Data Connector

A company’s craftsmanship is secured in your PDM/PLM system. The company’s processes are secured in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. Product Data Connector joins both systems, making it easier to collaborate on complex and composite products. PDC shortens time-to-market by bringing together engineering and operational processes.

Designs, working graphs and bills of materials created in your PDM/PLM system are made available (through PDC) to your processes that are supported by Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.

1. You maintain your product data in your PDM/PLM system.
2. All new and modified product data is exported from your PDM/PLM system.
3. The exported product data is imported into D365 and validated

Product Data Connector makes it easy to import/update the following information into D365 from PDM/PLC systems:

• Products
• Product attributes
• Configuration attributes (when used in combination with Configuration Management)
• BOMs
• Routes
• Cost calculations
• Sales orders
• Sales quotations
• Project quotations
• Document references (e.g., drawings)

Data can be imported manually or automatically (through a periodic batch job). During the import process, Product Data Connector validates the data. Whenever there is an issue with the imported data, Product Data Connector will provide information on the issue to help you to correct the product data.
