Pricing Tool automates Business Central Price Lists with mass update capability for: margin preservation based on a selection of cost references, location-based price lists, preservation of prices by pre-set profit margin, automatic price roundups, discounts, contract price start/end dates, import of Price List data from outside sources.

Item price calculation by Last Direct Cost and Vendor Cost

• Natively the Price = Cost + Profit option in Price/Profit Calculation field of the item card calculates price from Unit Cost. This app adds a new field called Price Calculation Cost Source, which allows you to calculate the price from Unit Cost, Last Direct Cost or Vendor Cost instead. Vendor cost comes from the purchase price of the item’s primary vendor selected on the item card (through the Price List feature).

Location-based sales price list lines

• A Location Code column is added to the price list lines, which allows you to set prices for a specific location. Sales lines will use prices with either a matching location code or any with a blank location code.

Price by profit in sales price list lines

• The following added columns deal with calculating price by profit: Price from Profit, Price Calculation Cost Source, Profit %, Round Price From Profit to 09. Once the desired profit and cost source is set, the Extension automatically maintains the profit, for the future after any changes in the referenced Cost Source.

Price list line price calculation by Last Location Purchase Cost

• The price list lines have a fourth cost calculation source that is not natively on the Item Card; Last Location Purchase Cost. The Extension combines price list and cost source native functions so Price List location and cost source can be used to update the Last Location Purchase Cost. It’s similar to the Last Direct Cost option but will only consider purchases made to the selected Location.

Item price list line details

• When managing the settings and mass update for price from profit, four fields are added as columns for visibility and decision making: unit cost, primary vendor, vendor item number, and vendor item cost. This is displayed when accessing the price list directly from an item card.

Importing price list lines

• There is currently no way to import lists of items and prices into the Price List. This Extension adds an additional page which is used to import data through web services.

Item Pricing and Profit Worksheet

• Item Pricing and Profit Worksheet is a page that performs the management of item prices as noted above. It allows easy updates for prices, discounts, margins, and other settings for price list lines by putting them together in one worksheet. It also allows you to add lines to the worksheet by using filters such as Category, Vendor, and Location.
