Efficient data exchange with external systems
The PI EDI app from prisma informatik provides a basic framework for loading data from external data sources (e.g. web shops), temporarily storing it in a queue and finally processing it.
The module is ideal for integrating external systems such as web services and other interfaces. The connection of external systems is not part of the solution but can be implemented using this framework via individual AL programming.
The EDI message queue of the app serves as a central element for incoming and outgoing messages (e.g. JSON, XML, CSV etc.). Finally, the job queue is used to transmit the messages. In the event of errors, the transmission is repeated according to an adjustable number of repetitions.
PI EDI thus supports the import and export of data. Sophisticated error handling covers all steps – from creation and transmission to processing the responses.
Create EDI orders flexibly with PI EDI
In addition to the EDI message queue, PI EDI provides a flexible order document (EDI document).
The XML or JSON data can be transferred programmatically into a flexible header and line structure from which sales orders can be created automatically.
This enables seamless processing of order data provided by external systems such as web shops or platforms.
Additional field information can be stored flexibly using the key-value principle. Custom logic can also be integrated using events in order to implement specific requirements and individual processes.
Comprehensive error handling with detailed logs ensures maximum transparency and reliability in the creation of sales documents at all times.
PI EDI is therefore suitable for any company that wants to exchange data with external systems based on Dynamics 365 Business Central.
The module can be used not only to temporarily store data records and create orders, but also, for example, to synchronize master data by transferring items to external systems.
