Microsoft Teams Voice Proof of Concept and Pilot

Burwood Group

Integrate calling capabilities into Teams with Burwood's PoC. This trial introduces voice features and essential components, allowing you to evaluate effectiveness before making a larger investment.

Burwood's migration process offers significant value to technical admins and end users by addressing their needs for a comprehensive phone system. It includes activities such as network readiness, security, business requirements analysis, and E911 implementation, ensuring a tailored solution that enhances communication and collaboration. The Microsoft Teams calling features proof of concept has been crucial, not only for its ability to streamline communication and enhance team collaboration but also for emphasizing the importance of end-user training, which is essential for successful adoption and productivity enhancement.

Prior to the migration, Burwood performs the following activities: gathering of phone system requirements covering best practices, network readiness (essential network assessment activities), and security; conduct business requirements based on user workflow needs which will determine success criteria; implement specific dial plan needs as well as global and location specific policies based on best practices and requirements; implementation of features and functionality identified during business workflow requirements; E911 requirements and implementation based on state and federal legislation; inbound/outbound call flow functionality based on desired PSTN connectivity needs (calling plan, direct routing, operator connect); validation of system functionality with system implementation and test plan as well as end user acceptance testing; adoption and training for end users and technical admins of the system.

After system build, test, and training is complete, an as-built document of the completed Proof of Concept, inclusive of recommendation based on pilot performance and end user feedback surveys will be provided. The proof of concept for Microsoft Teams calling features has successfully demonstrated the efficiency of Auto Attendants, Call Queues, and Call Delegation. These features have proven to be invaluable for automatic call routing, streamlining communication, and enhancing team collaboration. Even with consideration of unique challenges, the proof of concept focuses on end-user adoption and training, which has been pivotal to past success. Ensuring that users are well-versed in operating the new solution has led to increased productivity and a smoother transition to the new tools.
